Elevator Music?

Elevator Music?

Elevator Music? In all honesty, I think of subdued or perhaps quirky jazz – something with a sixties feel to it. I don’t think of anything with lyrics. But I can see there are a lot choosing songs with lyrics, and it seems as if most are picking something laid back and relaxing.

In all honesty, I would never have chosen Enigma’s “Return To Innocence” as elevator music, but it is very chilled out and soothing.

That's not the beginning of the end
That's the return to yourself
The return to innocence
Love - Devotion
Feeling - Emotion
Love - Devotion
Feeling - Emotion
Don't be afraid to be weak
Don't be too proud to be strong
Just look into your heart my friend
That will be the return to yourself
The return to innocence
If you want, then start to laugh
If you must, then start to cry
Be yourself don't hide
Just believe in destiny
Don't care what people say
Just follow your own way
Don't give up and use the chance
To return to innocence
That's not the beginning of the end
That's the return to yourself
The return to innocence
Don't care what people say
Follow just your own way Follow just your own way
Don't give up, don't give up
To return, to return to innocence.
If you want then laugh
If you must then cry
Be yourself don't hide
Just believe in destiny.

  1. The chanting in this song is very peaceful and I read that the drum beat was sampled from the Led Zeppelin song When the Levee Breaks. Everything in this video is going backward in time. Nice choice Lady A.

    1. Thank you Jim – I was not quite sure where to go with this one. Lots of jazz instrumental music came up when I searched for elevator music, but as none of those tracks had lyrics, I did not think they would do for Song LYRIC Sunday.
