When I saw Jim’s choice of theme for this week’s Song Lyric Sunday I instantly thought of a song synonymous with Frank Sinatra “Fly Me To The Moon”. Perhaps others will have thought of the very same song. But as I was preparing this post, I realized I do actually prefer Julie London’s recording of this track.
Can you believe that this song is 67 years old?!! Howard Bart apparently had been pursuing a career in music for twenty years when he came up with this track in around twenty minutes. It is a timeless classic that I don’t think we could ever tire of.
Credits: Howard Bart
Fly me to the moon And let me play among the stars Let me see what spring is like On Jupiter and Mars In other words Hold my hand In other words Darling, kiss me Fill my heart with song And let me sing forever more You are all I long for All I worship and adore In other words Please be true In other words I love you Fill my heart with song And let me sing forever more You are all I long for All I worship and adore In other words Please be true In other words I love you
Fantastic choice Annette!

Great pick! You know who did the original? Kaye Ballard! She had a great voice…

I like the Julie London version of this, it is a bit more upbeat than Frank’s. I figured that there would be plenty of songs with This and That, so I am happy that you came up with Other.
