For many of you “Seedlip” will need no explanation – they have been the go-to name for non-alcoholic spirits for some time. We have been buying Seedlip “gin” ever since we heard of it so we could make sure guests who were driving home left our home with a safe tipple.
I picked up some of their ready mixed cans of non-alcholic G&T recently, and this one caught me by surprise. I did not read the word “spice” on the front, so it was rather a shocker when I drank it. There is actually quite a heady mix of flavours in this beverage. I read the following about this product, which finally made sense of what I had tasted:
“A complex, aromatic blend of individually copper-pot distilled barks, spices and citrus peels.”
SEEDLIP SPICE 94
That is it….as well as cardamon, I was detecting festive flavours, perhaps cloves or other winter aromats. The first time I tried Seedlip Spice 94, I did not find it pleasant because I was expecting a crisp G&T. Once I knew what to expect, I enjoyed more of these pre-mixed drinks with relish. This is a wonderful non-alcoholic tipple for winter months.
There is also a fabulous page on the Seedlip website with cocktail recipes using Seedlip Spice 94:

I have a bottle of Seedlip that I was gifted last month.
