She’s Getting Tired Of Her High-Class Toys

For today’s playful Song Lyric Sunday theme, I could not think of any songs about toys, so I instead I have chosen a song that mentions toys – “high-class toys”.

Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl” is such a fun, upbeat track with bags of appeal. I love Billy Joel’s original track, with lyrics telling the story of a working class man trying to woo a classy up-town girl. When I see this video – they do not look like the obvious couple – do they? Yet Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley went on to wed.

Just for fun…I have also tagged a video of a Comic Relief cover of the song by Westlife – with some well known British actors being extremely annoying in the video (Mel says she has seen Crispin a couple of times when she lived in Muswell Hill) and Claudia Schiffer clearly not impressed by their behaviour.
