The Month That Was…Surprisingly Summery September

This past month turned out to be an unexpected and very welcome late summer. Robert and I felt the need to make the most of it – hence my general lack of input over the past few weeks. Seeking to make the most of the warm sunshine and light evenings (which are already fading fast) we have been out more times than is healthy for people of our age. But we have had a wonderful time – seeing friends, seeing shows, eating out.

It was on one of our jaunts into the city using the London Underground that Robert and I presume we picked up covid. So we have spent the past few days feeling rather sorry for ourselves (achy, coughing, sniffling, sore throats), especially as we had no Wills to make soup for us. Thank goodness Wills had already set off on his adventure to the US before Robert and I tested positive for Covid.

Well, we are now passed the worst of it, and hoping we regain our energy so we can resume strolls over the Common and over to Richmond Park. We could do with a glorious autumn to cheer us up. Here are the posts I published on LADY LEWIS during September:

Of course the most exciting event of the month was when both Robert and I were mentioned by Jeanne when she announced her Star Bakers for the 2023 Great Bloggers’ Bake Off. We enjoyed the Bake Off immensely, and being mentioned by Jeanne was the icing on the cake!
