There is a shop at the end of our road that sells, amongst other produce, bottles of wine averaging £40. I rather resent spending that much money on wine. However, they also sell a wine that we have fallen for for a more modest £13.50.
Kaiken Malbec has everything you would want in a red wine – luscious black fruit flavours on a rich chocolate backdrop. But it is not overly rich or syrupy like some red wines with similar flavour profiles. This one is just a little less heavy. It became a firm favourite of ours this past winter. So often Robert would walk down the road to buy fresh bread and come back with a bottle of Kaiken Malbec along with our dark sourdough loaf.
